What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The only personal data that we collect is for the maintenance of our customer list and for fulfilling customer or wholesale orders. We never share or sell personal information to third parties (except for the reasons noted below under ‘Who we share your data with’.

 

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment. This is the same group that runs the platform that we are on, which is WordPress, as well as the commerce software program that we use, WooCommerce.

 

Media

When visitors upload images to the website, they should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors are able to download and extract any location data from images on the website. By uploading images to our site, visitors are allowing us to use them publicly. We’ll always abide by the visitor’s decision to have us remove any of their uploaded images from our site.

 

Contact forms

By filling out a contact form, the visitor is simply writing to one of our staff members who will read the message. We will not automatically sign anyone up for any list, including our email list, unless given explicit permission to do so. Any comment sent through our contact form is considered private unless specific permission is granted by the visitor.

 

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

We have a security team in place that let’s us know if our site is to ever get hacked. Site security is all that they do and they are just as serious as we are about keeping our visitors’ information and our site safe and secure.
